Shay sat at home on her bed, hugging her knees to her chest. She was crying. Crying, thinking that in a few days she'd be in one of the University of Michigan dorms rooming with two cruel, senior girls and there was nothing she could do about it.
Shay's family didn't have a lot of money. Both her parents were teachers at the local, elementary school. They loved their jobs, but could hardly afford anything besides the necessities. Shay had to work two jobs, just to afford her car, clothes, and occasional hair appointments.

It was no. 14 on the Mary J. Blige cd I gave him to listen to on his way home that night. I really don't know why I gave it to him. I was involved with someone else at that time and I really didn't want to start a long distance relationship. Maybe it was something about the week we spent together that made me feel that I could open myself up to him. What could it hurt? It was just a song.
The next day was our first date and he drove across town to go home in midday traffic to get cleaned up for our date, only to turn around and come back across town in rush hour traffic to pick me up. Well, by the time he arrived at my hotel room, I had already worked a long day and I just wanted to relax. I was too old for dating, especially someone who I wasn't going to see after a couple of weeks anyway.

About 7 years ago, I was feeling like I wanted to die. THere was nothing left in my life that was great. I had a tiny baby the size of a bean in my belly and my husband that I was crazy about was leaving me for another girl he just met.
I wanted to kill myself, but coudln't knowing that I was pregnant. I had the baby and i cried every day.
My husband went to HollyWood to become an actor. I wished he would fail, but I knew that he was the best looking and most talented man I had ever known in my entire life. He is still there today and he is just about to become the big new actor in CA. ...
