A Day to Remember
Flashback:
“Omma, can you pass the syrup to me?” Yaru said when Ya-Min had her forks on the table.
“Ya-Min, my gosh, can’t you just eat by yourself?” Yaru said being disturbed.
“I want you to cut my pancakes for me.”
“Yaru.” Mom looked at me.
“Alright, give me your plate.” She said and took it.
“Here, now eat up.” Yaru gave back her plate of cut up pancakes.
“Cumsamida.” Ya-Min said and ate her pancakes happily.
“Appa,” Ya-Min said when dad got home.
“Oh, my little Ms. Joon Ya-Min.” Dad said and picked her up.
“Appa, do you know that I drew a picture of you, you want to see it?”
“Yea.” Dad said when she got down and ran to her room.
“Unnie, can you come with me, I want to show it to you too.” Ya-Min said and stared at Yaru.
“Yaru.” Mom said as she slowly stood up.
Yaru and Ya-min walked to Ya-min’s room and she went digging for her picture in her school bag.
“Unnie, I can’t find it.”
“Check your back pack again.”
“Nope, no picture.” She said when she checked it the second time.
“I think you left it on the kitchen table.” Yaru said when they both ran to the kitchen.
Before they got to the kitchen, the kitchen door swung open and, Yaru heard shot guns when she stopped and pulled Ya-min into the closet.
(Screaming)
“There is only two choices, one, hand me over my granddaughter or, two, let me kill you both.” That person said.
“No, it’s better off you kill us both.” Dad said.
“No.” Yaru whispered under her breath.
“Okay, that’ll do.”
“No.” Mom stood up as a person at the door killed her.
“NO.” Dad said and walked over to mom, gun shot again and this time, it was silence.
Tears came rushing down Yaru’s face as Ya-min screamed in terror. In awhile, the door of the closet swung opened.
Yaru and Ya-Min screamed in terror when they pulled them out.
(Scream)
In an early morning, Yaru moaned in her dream when her head started to sweat, as she turned around and around struggling to hide but couldn’t. Tears came rushing down her face, when she heard a loud scream.
“Ya-Min.” She said and woke up from her dream.
“Unnie, the water is flowing down the sink.” Ya-Min said running to her room.
“Ya-Min, what did you do now.” She said in her tired voice.
She slowly stood up from the bed and walked into the kitchen when she see’s water on the floor.
“Oh, Ya-Min.” She said and quickly ran to the sink and turned the water off, and started to clean the floor.
At breakfast time, we both ate quietly, when Ya-Min was the first one to make a sound.
“Unnie, what are we going to do today?”
“I am going to work, and you are going to a day care.”
“Unnie, why can’t you stay with me at home for once.”
“Sorry Ya-Min, if you still want toys to play with, I have to work, okay?”
“Okay.” She said continuing to eat her breakfast.
“Ya-Min, now listen to the teacher and don’t be naughty, and I’ll come and pick you up as soon as I am done with work okay?”
“Unnie...” Ya-Min said with a innocence face, when Yaru glared at her.
“Ye.” Ya-Min nodded her head and went inside with the teacher.
Yaru ran down the hall way to her office room, when there were some people in there waiting for the conference to start. She quickly took her papers of selling their company product of stylish clothes, and quickly walked into the conference room.
“Annyeonghaseyo, Chusamida, I am late.”
She sat down when the conference started, finally it was over and everyone went walking out.
“Miss Joon, these are the papers that will need to be signed.” A co-worker said.
“Ye.” I said and took it.
