Confused

I'm so confused about what I want in life far as a boyfriend. I'm so in love wit this boy and we tried the dating thing for a while but there were always some problems. So we broke up and he was thing to get back wit me for about 3 weeks and finally he just gave up. So he told me that he didn’t never want to talk to me again but he still loves me but I really love him and still want to talk to me I just need sometime and he don’t understand that he thinks I don’t want him no more but I do I just need to get my self together first I’m so confused what should I do I need some help?
